Christmas Eve Cocoa

'Twas the night before Christmas...and this blogger must sleep. Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!

Sweet Dreams

Christmas Eve PJs

Forget the party dress (momentarily) - I have met many a friend and family whose Fashion Moment of the Year is their Christmas Eve ensemble! From colorful tartan to sparkly snowflakes, flannel to satin, footies or footless, pre-Santa sleepwear has reached epic fashion proportions for the whole family!  Personally, I'm a classic kind of girl; give me a matching green & red plaid button down top and bottoms with a pair of fuzzy slippers and I'm good to go dream about those dancing sugarplums - how about you?  Share with me your PJ tradition in the comment section below, I would love to hear how  you keep it fashion forward, even in the family room!

Need inspiration? Check out some of my favorite "evening-wear" looks available at Burlington Mall!

Merry Christmas!

The Boyfriend Jean

Booties:(Zara) Jeans: (GAP) Scarf: (Nordstrom) Watch: (Michael Kors) Hat: (J.Crew)

Boyfriend jeans are great, one of my favorite items. They are comfortable and the column leg look, unlike a skinny or a flare is flattering on all shapes. And the best part is, you don't need a boyfriend to rock this look!
Pair them with a black blazer & heels for a day date look, or a flannel undershirt with a crop sweater and boots for a inspired grunge chic look.

Splurge at Nordstrom, Save at Forever 21
Just remember to cuff the bottoms!

Conquering Black Friday

Function vs. Fashion…who said you have to choose, when it comes to Black Friday both are possible.
Lululemon Wunder Unders: I am sure we can all agree that the last thing we want to do at 12:30 am after eating everything in sight is put on a pair of jeans. That’s where the Lululemon wunder unders come in handy. These are hands down the best leggings I have ever owned.
J.Crew Tartan Shirt: The plaid shirt is a go-to for an easy, effortless, yet stylish look. This oversized button down from J.Crew is perfect for the comfortable and casual style needed to conquer the shopping scene.
Urban Outfitters Beanie: Everyone needs a beanie, not up for discussion. They are a wardrobe essential this fall/winter. It is perfect for your leftover Thanksgiving hair, just toss on a beanie and you are instant cool.
The Rebecca Minkoff: This mini 5-zip crossbody is ideal for an all hands on deck shopping spree. The reason I’m obsessed with this one is its size. No more consolidating your wallet to fit the tiny clutch. This handbag is a perfect dimension for the classic wallet.
Mophie Battery Case: It’s a digital world we live in and I know I will certainly need my iPhone to score some of the best Black Friday deals. It would be a nightmare to have it die mid-sale.! The mophie battery case is available at Apple and will double the battery life of your phone.
Converse Chuck Taylors: When preparing for Black Friday my mind immediately goes to footwear. Sneakers are a must! The Converse sneaks are available at Nordstrom and completely pull the outfit together.
This look is easy to accomplish - I know I’ll be chasing down the deals in my chucks! Find all of these pieces and more at Burlington Mall!

Enjoy the Holiday!

What's in my bag?

I am proud to announce that I am the newest Style Setter for the Burlington Mall! This is a great blogging opportunity and I am thrilled to embark on this new journey and incorporate it with Sartorial Splendors. Growing up in Burlington I am no stranger to the mall and the fabulous stores, services & amenities it has to offer!  As a current student majoring in Fashion Merchandising and an avid fashion blogger, from the textbook to the lookbook, I am so excited to have this opportunity to share my passion for fashion with all of you!
A girl’s handbag is similar to Mary Poppins; you never know what she is hiding in there. To get to know me I thought I could reveal what’s in my bag…
1. Hair elastics – these are essential. I am always wearing one on my wrist, but they can stretch out or break, and you never know when you’ll need another one. (Anthropologie has great Emi Jay hair ties)
2. A chic water bottle. Anyone who knows me knows that I constantly have a water bottle on me; I try to drink at least 30 oz. of water a day. Staying hydrated is incredibly good for your skin and maintaining a healthy diet
3. A tube of Le Volume De Chanel mascara. Available at Nordstrom, I highly recommend this mascara! It is semi-waterproof and great for me because I wear contact lenses. No clumps, no fuss: all around amazing.
4. A Planner. Although the world we live in is so digital, I still like to put things down on pen and paper. Physically writing things down helps me process and remember all of the important dates and events – and yes, I do color code it.
5. A bottle of the season’s best nail polish: This fall my go-to nail color is Essie’s After School Boy Blazer. It is such a rich and dark navy that matches everything. I keep it in my bag if and when the dreaded chipped nail appears. Nothing makes me feel more put together than a fresh manicure.
Those are items that are inevitably in all of my bags, what would we be surprised to find in your handbag?

Falling for Fall

Wide brim hats are my absolute favorite. They instantly give off this air of refined elegance and style no matter what you’re wearing. It is the perfect way to mix in some of your summer pieces while its not quite cold enough to break out winter pieces. A scarf is my go-to accessory to layer this with, the patterned scarf gives the outfit more depth.

Back to Basics

Booties: (ShoeDazzle) Bag: (Kate Spade) Skirt: (Club Monaco) Sweater: (J.Crew) Sunnies: (ALDO) Jacket: (Forever 21, similar here)

When thinking about fall outfits, it dawned on me that last fall was when I first started the blog. What better way to kickstart this year by paying homage to a piece from my outfit that started it all: the J.Crew bulldog!

Fashion has no longer has rules, so here I am in white after labor day. Splurged on this Club Monaco skirt and it was well worth it. Trying not to be a force for my daytime classes, I dressed it down with this cargo jacket. The cargo jacket is essential for every wardrobe because it is the perfect amount of grunge while still looking chic and sophisticated. I will definitely be wearing this skirt all year, looking forward to making glam during the holidays.
